“Stray” dogs roaming our neighborhoods.

Eating out the cans: breeding when they can

Manage to drive-off cutesy-‘necklaced’ pets.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To whom did they once belong?
Tattered ears, with ragged coats and oddly bent tails.
— Quick-eyed and suspicious!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Where were they way-back when?

Growing up loved and bright;

Well fed and hyped, in each hip neighborhood.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scattered all through our alleyways
None were native Wild Dogs of course,
Shipped-over under cover of night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Like ‘shiftless’ folks in quaint home towns,

Litters of pups who once upon their time

Belonged to loving Parents.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One can wonder what had happened, to
These young precious lives…and then begin
To calculate what will become in time?
