Hi Ashllyn; I have had dogs, (and occasionally an 'accidental' cat in my world--all my life. Except for this recent stretch. Taurus my most recent 'buddy' was brought home from Queens to Manhattan in my coat pocket. They said at the shelter (sight unseen) I might not like him--no one else does they said; not even the other dogs.
~~ I said there and then "I'll take him", even before I was led down into the bowels of the otherwise decent 'Shelter' from which I'd adopted a dog previously. The little b/w pup was scared but seemed to be waiting just for me to show up. Taurus turned out to be the very best companion ever.
~~ He lived his whole life among three parks; one of which is Central Park. His doctor's office was only about 5-blocks away and everybody who passed him seem to comment lovingly at his style and manner.
~~ Ohh, btw ~ I never tossed any of his 'badges' snd such away. Every doctors vac-Tag, ASPCA or whatever he ever earned was added to his collar. He wore them proudly. I still have that leash and collar and will keep them forever.
