ARE WE NO MORE NOR LESS THAN THE CREATURES WE KEEP

There was a time when most of us settled into groups, then formed tribes and finally merged our scattered numbers into towns and cities. We coexisted with each other’s differences while exchanging stories and imagined way out things. Some of those things included that final reality which we saw as an ultimate place in the Here-After. Most of us bought into the many tribal superstitions because they captured our fertile imaginations. Over time we mistook Olden Truths as fables, then fables were flipped as concrete religions.
Even to this day we still believe those outrageously, simplistic tales. Stories from our more recent past which are as wrongheaded as they are confusing. At the heart of the most significant tales are those which contain a space somewhere beyond the clouds which we hope to ascend to. These are the select tales which we repeat among ourselves and pass down through generations to our children’s children.
It has been catalogued that over time many of our tribal and campfire tales tend to in a childlike manner morph into some form of religion. We join circles or attend meeting houses seeking to huddle with those who exhibit like minds. We seek out those of kindred…
